Fairmarkit, wherever you work: Introducing MCP

If you’re already working through a sourcing question in your AI assistant, why should you have to stop, open another application, and start again?

You’ve got the question. You’ve got the context. You want to get something done.

That’s the thinking behind Fairmarkit’s MCP capability, available now. It brings Fairmarkit into the AI tools and workflows where you already work, so you can access supplier intelligence, start a sourcing event, or bring live sourcing data into the conversation without switching applications.

And yes, I’m fired up about this one.

Three letters. A practical shift.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. In plain English, it gives AI tools a way to connect with other systems and use their capabilities.

For Fairmarkit, that means connecting our sourcing intelligence and actions to tools like Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

Think about where work actually begins. You’re exploring a category strategy. Looking into suppliers. Working through a business need with your AI assistant. Sourcing is the next step, but getting there usually means moving to another system and carrying the context with you (or explaining it all over again).

With MCP, Fairmarkit can meet you in that workflow.

You can bring supplier intelligence into the discussion, pull live sourcing data into your analysis, or initiate an event from the conversation you’re already having.

Fewer handoffs. Less jumping between tabs. More momentum from question to action.

The application shouldn’t dictate how you work

We’ve spent years asking people to adapt their work to software: go here, find this, click that, then move to the next system.

I believe software needs to get much better at adapting to people.

That’s a big part of our Total Agentic Sourcing vision. Fairmarkit’s intelligence and ability to act should be available wherever the work begins. Sometimes that’s inside Fairmarkit. Increasingly, it’s inside an AI conversation.

Of course, a more convenient interface doesn’t make sourcing decisions simple. Teams still need category expertise, judgment, and clear rules about what agents can do. Making capabilities easier to access is one part of making them useful.

But it’s a meaningful part. When someone is ready to move a sourcing request forward, the software should help them keep going.

Net-net: you shouldn’t have to organize your day around getting into Fairmarkit. We’re bringing Fairmarkit closer to the work you’re already doing.

Watch the video above for a quick look at MCP and what it means for sourcing.
